Next in our #AskMe campaign, we caught up with founders and brothers, Andrew and Mark. Don your finest JAM Industries attire and head to the beach!
What are the best beaches in South Devon?
This is hard to pick as they are all pretty great and we may be biased considering that we are lucky enough to live and run a business from the South West. If we had to narrow it down, we would recommend these as the top three: South Milton, Thurlestone and Black Pool Sands.
What are the best beaches in Cornwall?
Tough one again as we are spoiled for choice with Cornish beaches and each one has its own unique features. If, like us, surfing is your thing, then we would recommend head to the North coast and exploring Constantine Bay, Porthcurno beach or Crantock beach.
Can you recommend somewhere for lunch in Salcombe?
Crabshed, Bigbury. Delicious food and great people, just make sure you book in advance as it’s a popular spot!
What’s off the beaten track but worth checking out?
In Cornwall… the Rocket Store in Boscastle. It’s an amazing little fish restaurant that is worth knowing about. Also Tarquin’s Gin Factory which is just outside of Padstow – they offer a behind the scenes tour including a gin tasting experience which is perfect for a rainy day activity.
In Devon… The Rock Box at South Milton Sands. All-day menu of amazing food and beautiful views over the beach. Stick around to catch the sunset!
Favourite place to staycation and why?
In Cornwall Trewornam Manor. It’s an amazing luxury B&B close to all the fun spots in North Cornwall.
In Devon… Gara Rock Hotel. It’s positioned on a beautiful cliffside meaning that the views are unbeatable. It’s also close enough to Salcombe for a day trip and a chance to pop into one of our stores (tip – it’s on Island Street)!
What JAM pieces would you recommend for a beach day?
The JAM collection is designed to kit you out for a day at the beach that doesn’t have to end when the sun goes down – comfortable yet stylish. We would pair one of our 100% organic t-shirts with our lobster trunks and the Le Beach hoodie for extra warmth after a refreshing dip. We would complete the look with a pair of JAM flipflops and a glass of Pimm’s!
