Banish the January blues and fill your new year diary with a roster of events. We’ve got just the thing…

606 Club

Originally a small 30-seater basement venue, 606 is now one of London’s leading jazz clubs with space for 120 guests and a diverse offering featuring jazz, soul, groove and latin, R&B, funk, gospel and blues artists. With live music and great food served seven nights a week, you’ll always find something to enjoy. Weekends are incredible busy, so if you’re not a member you’ll need to book for dinner to ensure you’re not disappointed.

90 Lots Road, London SW10 0QD

Pheasantry

Don’t be fooled by the Pizza Express sign – The Pheasantry is one of London’s leading supper clubs with a programme ranging from jazz and cabaret to fado and folk. And yes, some great pizza too. This month’s highlights include Bella and the Bourbon Boys, who take jazz standards and modern songs and serve them up with a twist. Catch them on 23 January with tickets starting from just £18.

152-154 King’s Road, London SW3 4UT

Saatchi Gallery

We’re so lucky to have the Saatchi Gallery a stone’s throw from the King’s Road, tucked away in Duke of York Square. Right now, there’s still time to catch some of London’s hottest new art talent until 16 January with London Grads Now. 21 hosting a fresh selection of works by MA graduate students from London’s leading art schools. And don’t miss emerging Canadian painter Ally Mcintyre’s Dog Day Circus exhibition or the opportunity to pre-book your tickets to America in Crisis  (opening end-January) or the world-premier of Bob Marley: One Love Experience coming in February.

Royal Court Theatre

Supporting our incredible local theatres has never been more important after a tough two years for the entertainment sector. Right now, you can catch Alistair McDowell’s The Glow at Royal Court Theatre from 21 January. This tense and dark tale of one woman’s amnesia set at the end of the 19th Century is sure to leave you feeling both intrigued and unsettled.

Sloane Square, London SW1W 8As

Cadogan Hall

Calling all word nerds: Susie Dent and Gyles Brandreth are bringing their love of language to the stage in Something Rhymes with Purple LIVE  on Saturday 15 January at 2pm. Based on the duo’s Gold-Award winning podcast, the pair will get to grips with the bizarre origins of sayings, lots of myth busting and a deep dive into the way that theatre has shaped our language and expressions. Tickets start from £27.50.
