To mark the 210th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo, the Royal Hospital Chelsea will host a Regency ball in its iconic Great Hall on Saturday 21 Jun 2025, 6.30pm – 11:00pm.
Inspired by the Duchess of Richmond’s legendary ball on the eve of battle in 1815, this event invites enthusiasts of the Napoleonic and Regency eras—as well as fans of Bridgerton and Jane Austen—to experience an evening of historic elegance and dance.
Led by expert caller Libby from Mrs Bennet’s Ballroom, and accompanied by Regency dancers and live music from The Capability Consort, the evening is suitable for all levels of dancing experience. While Regency attire is encouraged, it is not required. A bar will be open throughout the night.
This event forms part of the National Army Museum’s Waterloo Week, commemorating one of the most significant battles in British history.
