Afternoon Tea Week will be in full swing from 7-13 August – and is the perfect opportunity to indulge. Luckily, there are afternoon tea’s in abundance on and around the King’s Road to do just that.

Peggy Porschen 

As popular for its instagrammable interiors as it is for its delicious sweet treats, Peggy Porschen is not to be missed. Enjoy the Floral & Coral’s Afternoon Tea for £50 per person, which sees Peggy bring an underwater utopia to life. Expect a menu featuring a traditional selection of sandwiches, scones and ‘under the sea’ themed cakes – yes, we’re talking a ‘Sea anemone raspberry & passionfruit meringue tartlet’ and an ‘Ocean treasures lemon shell madeleine’ amongst others.

The Cadogan, A Belmond Hotel

For a touch of glamour and a dash of adventure, book an Afternoon Tea experience at The Cadogan on nearby Sloane Street for £65pp. Inspired by the sounds and flavours of locations featured in the 1872 novel ‘Around the World in 80 Days’, the menu includes a selection of traditional sandwiches, scones and playful sweet treats – highlights include a ‘Five Weeks in a Balloon’ chestnut and vanilla cake and ‘The Steam House’, a chocolate and caramel tart.

Beaufort House

At £30 per person (or £40 with a glass of Champagne), there’s not a soggy-bottomed sandwich or unimaginative cake in sight with Beaufort House’s Classic Afternoon Tea. You’ll be spoilt for choice with their savoury selection, which includes Chicken Caesar Wraps and tasty Tomato & Mozzarella sandwiches, as well as a selection of delicious desserts on the top tier.

The Ivy Chelsea Garden

Ask for a spot in the gorgeous conservatory and dig into artfully arranged tiers of scones, sandwiches and sweet treats; the perfect spot for a catch up, rain or shine. Served between 3-5pm, their Champagne Afternoon Tea is priced at £42.95, while their Dream Afternoon Tea is priced at £32.95. We’ve got our eyes on the grilled chicken and truffle mayonnaise brioche roll.

Ivy Asia

Enjoy an Ivy Asia twist on the traditional afternoon tea. For £32.95 per person, tuck into savouries inspired by Asian culture – from aromatic spring rolls and spicy avocado maki rolls to sesame crusted prawn dumplings – then enjoy the perfect sweet accompaniments, including warm passion fruit and coconut doughnuts, raspberry macaroons and more. The Tea House 

If anyone knows a thing or two about perfectly baked goods, it’s Bread Ahead – a stone’s throw away on Pavilion Road – with Afternoon Tea available from 1pm Friday-Sunday for £50 per person. Enjoy a selection of incredible rolls with fillings including Scottish smoked salmon with zested lemon butter and sweets including traditional fluffy scones, a St Clements Posset and a variety of British bakes. And if you just can’t get enough, shop some of their delicious bakes in the store downstairs to take home with you.

11 Cadogan Gardens

Drawing inspiration from the breathtaking gardens that surround the hotel, 11 Cadogan Gardens Afternoon Tea is available for £49 per person. Delicious sandwiches include Coronation chicken choux buns with parmesan, and cucumber and herb cream cheese on spinach bread, whilst sweets feature classic scones and melt-in-the-mouth pastries; Apricot Pebbles, Rhubarb Roulades and Rose Macarons.
