If rowing and a spot of gin floats your boat, get yourself down to King’s Road favourite Bluebird for an afternoon of both on Sunday 29 March.
Student crews from Oxford and Cambridge will once again swap textbooks for oars in the return of the annual Boat Race. This year is the 158th rendition of the historic university event, which takes place on a four-mile stretch along the River Thames, commencing in Putney.
This year, Bluebird have collaborated with Cambridge Gin to bring you tipples while you tune in on their big screen – perfect for those who can’t make it to the tow path but still want to cheer on the crews. The terrace has been transformed, complete with a boat, to create a fittingly nautical backdrop for the occasion.
Cambridge Gin is on offer all week, from Monday 23 to Sunday 29 March, while the boat race itself will be screened on the terrace on Sunday 29.
The first race starts at 3.33pm, but you can also make a day of it and have brunch in the restaurant beforehand. Book quoting ‘Cambridge Boat Race’ to enjoy a complimentary cocktail, sure to get you in oar-some high spirits. Book yours now to ensure you don’t miss the boat!
