Pancake Day in Chelsea

Pancake Day in Chelsea

King's Road
Tuesday, 25 February 2020
Free Admission

With Pancake Day just around the corner on Tuesday 25 February, we’ve rounded up four of the best menus in Chelsea to ensure a ‘flipping’ good time on Shrove Tuesday.

Nutella pancakes at My Old Dutch
As the original London pancake house, My Old Dutch had to be top of the list. The extensive menu includes plenty of sweet, savoury, vegan and gluten-free options, but we’ll be heading there for the majestic Nutella pancake stack.

Hot Buttermilk Pancakes at The Ivy Chelsea Garden
Drop into The Ivy for breakfast (served until 11.30am Monday to Friday) and enjoy a stack of their popular hot buttermilk pancakes. Topped with glossy strawberries, raspberries and blackberries, and then a delicious dollop of Greek yoghurt, lemon balm and warm strawberry sauce, this fresh and fluffy brunch will set you up for the day.

Blueberry & Buttermilk or Sweetcorn pancakes at GAIL’s Bakery
The biggest dilemma every single year: should you go for sweet or savoury pancakes? Although GAIL’s Bakery can’t give you the answer, they do have a seriously tasty option for both. Those with a sweet tooth will be in pancake heaven with their blueberry-compote and crème-fraîche topped buttermilk stack, while savoury seekers can dig into sweetcorn pancakes, topped with smashed avocado, sour cream and tomato relish. Yum.

Sweet, savoury or ‘crazy healthy’ pancakes at L’Eto
There’s no need for pancake day to derail your diet at L’Eto. Made with buckwheat, their Crazy Healthy Pancakes are gluten-free, sugar-free and dairy-free, with a virtuous topping of pineapple, berries and coconut yoghurt. You can also opt for their delicious Homemade Crepes (choose to top with either Nutella & crunchy hazelnuts or vanilla cream & fresh berries) or go for a savoury style, courtesy of their French Breakfast, where crepes are filed with smoked salmon, fried eggs, creme fraiche and garden herbs.
