Chocolate Week 14-20 October

Chelsea
Monday, 14 October 2019 – Sunday, 20 October 2019
Free Admission

Monday marks the first day of Chocolate Week, and the King’s Road and surrounding Chelsea areas are bringing a chocolate-boxful of experiences to celebrate the 14-20 October 2019 in culinary style.

You may think of yourself as a chocolate aficionado, but did you know that Chelsea has an especially strong relationship with chocolate? Sloane Square’s namesake, Sir Hans Sloane, is famed for encountering cacao in Jamaica and bringing it back to the Brits as the milk-chocolate drink we all know and love. From Bluebird’s chocolate afternoon tea to Rococo’s chocolatier workshops, here are three ways to get involved in the local area.

For afternoon tea with a difference…

A trip to Bluebird is always a good idea, but especially this week. The Chelsea favourite have teamed up with Tony’s Chocoloney to create a cocoa-laden afternoon tea. Available from Monday 14 – Sunday 20 October, it’s a chocolate-infused 3-tiered afternoon tea extravaganza, accompanied by a delicious assortment of pastries. What’s more, Bluebird will be donating £1 for each afternoon tea to The Chocolonely Foundation, aligned to Tony’s Chocolonely’s core mission to make all chocolate 100% slave free.

For chocolate and beyond…

Chocolate aficionados can regularly be found frequenting Rococo’s legendary chocolate emporium, where it has brought indulgent hampers, bars and moreish sea-salt chocolate drops to the King’s Road since the 1980s. But the mouth-watering delicacies on display in the shop aren’t all that’s on offer. True chocoholics can get their fix by taking part in one of the store’s chocolate experiences. Whether you fancy an evening of chocolate tasting or want to try your hand at the craft itself in one of their chocolate making workshops, there’s plenty to sate sweet teeth here. Discover more about their courses on the website.

For artisan chocolate treats…

Locals know you can find plenty of chocolate treats at Duke of York Square’s Fine Food Market, running every Saturday from 10am-4pm. But, in honour of Chocolate Week, the market held this coming Saturday (October 19) will host a total chocolate takeover. Beneath the statue of Sir Hans Sloane, discover stallholders Peacoc, London Chocolate, No Chocolate (which is gluten free and vegan), Chocolate Cheesecakes, Diana’s Chocolates, the Dutch Pancake Company and many more. The perfect opportunity to pick up some delicious stocking fillers of festive gifts for the chocolate lovers in your life.
