The Chelsea History Festival returns from 24-28 September 2025, bringing the Chelsea Heritage Quarter to life with five days of talks, tours, performances, and family fun! Set across the Royal Hospital Chelsea, National Army Museum and Chelsea Physic Garden, expect a programme of over 80 family-friendly activities, immersive history re-enactments and creative workshops, to interactive story walks with Chelsea Pensioners, promising an immersion into some of the world’s greatest historical moments.
From a series of walking tours that bring to life Chelsea’s colourful history – one on all things punk, (book here) and another bringing to life the espionage, deceit and drama from the seemingly genteel surface of the neighbourhood (find out more here) – to a gripping conversation on the current threats and challenges for NATO, led by the Governor of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, General Bradshaw (reserve your space here), this year’s line up won’t disappoint.
Elsewhere, military historian, Anthony Tucker-Jones will be hosting a dramatic retelling of the Rhineland Offensive from a German perspective (book here), and acclaimed author, Daniel Swift will tell the story of how Shakespeare became the household name he is today and how the Elizabethan stage flourished (book tickets here).
