This August, we are celebrating Plated, London’s month-long celebration of food and drink. Running all month across Chelsea and Knightsbridge, the festival brings together 30+ restaurants serving exclusive dishes, festival menus and one-off offers you won’t find any other time of year. To mark the occasion, we have teamed up with one of the King’s Road’s most talked-about openings to give one lucky winner and their guest a delicious meal for two.

The Chalk Freehouse has quickly become a Chelsea favourite. Tom Kerridge’s warm, easygoing gastropub on Tryon Street, where former Hand & Flowers head chef Tom De Keyser turns prime British produce into bold, comforting cooking in a beautifully restored Victorian space. Think proper pub soul, elevated.

Their Plated set menu is summer on a plate. Start with Olivier salad and smoked mackerel or a chilled melon gazpacho with Isle of Wight tomatoes; move on to breaded sea bream with Cornish potato or white wine-brined Devonshire chicken with aged parmesan and rocket; then finish with buttermilk Panna Cotta with plum jelly and summer peach, or Madagascan vanilla ice cream with summer fruit salad. £30 for two courses, £35 for three.

The competition starts on Thursday 20 August and ends at 11:59pm on Sunday 31 August 2026.

T&Cs:

• The prize is a three-course meal for two at The Chalk Freehouse (from the à la carte or set menu), a glass of sparkling wine per guest on arrival, and a bottle of wine (manager’s discretion)
• There will be one winner, chosen at random after the competition closes.
