Mother’s Day on the King’s Road

Mother’s Day on the King’s Road

Whilst we love to shower our mothers with love year-round, Mother’s Day (19 March, in case you forgot) is the perfect opportunity to go the extra mile. Here is where to celebrate on and around the King’s Road.

Exclusive celebrations

Bluebird x Duck & Dry

Bluebird and neighbours Duck & Dry have collaborated to offer a very special experience this Mother’s Day; treat her to Brunch and a Blow-Dry. For £55, mums can enjoy a Duck & Dry blow dry followed by an iconic Bluebird brunch, where they can relax with either a coffee or a glass of fizz. Book tickets here.

Celebrate with Rabbit’s ‘Local & Wild’ Mother’s Day set menu on 19 March. For £45 pp, four delicious courses is the perfect way to spoil her, with menu highlights including seared mackerel, and a sweet cured confit hogget shoulder.

Enjoy an exclusive Mother’s Day menu of specials. A limited edition cocktail, ‘Mother Superior’ (Rose Petal Vodka, Lychee Liqueur, Fresh Lemon & Cranberry), salmon tartar to start and two special main courses, including a Roast Chicken to share, are sure to delight before tucking in to a Strawberry Meringue dessert.

Enjoy an Indian feast with Kahani’s Mother’s Day three-course set menu (£55 pp), with highlights including a Zaffrani paneer tikka ginger, a Kerala chicken Korma and an exotic Mango Rasmalai cheesecake dessert to finish.

When treating her to a weekend in Venice is off the cards, book a table at Polpo instead. Highlights include Beef shin pappardelle, Truffle cacio e pepe arancini and mouth-watering pizzettes and to top it off, mums will receive a complimentary glass of prosecco on dining. Saluti!

The Ivy Chelsea Garden

Surprise your mother and book a table at The Ivy Chelsea Garden who are celebrating the day in true Ivy style. Mother’s can enjoy three bespoke dishes on 19 March including, the ‘Mothering Sundae Dessert’ with vanilla ice cream, berries and crushed meringue with a tangy raspberry and elderflower sauce. And what better what to compliment the flavours than with one of their two irresistible elderflower cocktails. Additionally, their honey-inspired three tier afternoon tea, served between 3-5pm is available with the option of adding a special touch with upgrading your booking to the sparkling cream tea adding a glass of Nyetimber.

Sunday Lunches

Whilst there might not be a roast that trumps Mum’s, why not just treat her to something indulgent where she doesn’t have to lift a fingers. The award-winning Cadogan Arms have an exceptional Sunday Lunch Sharing Platter, featuring her favourite meats and the very best trimmings, whilst The Surprise, tucked away just off the King’s Road is sure to impress with their signature roasties (crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle) and Vegetable Wellington for something plant-based. The Botanist on Sloane Square have an exceptional Sunday Roast, complete with a complimentary of champagne for mothers on the day, and if you can’t make it down on the 19th itself, The Coopers Arms are offering a Mother’s Day Gift Card; in addition to the £50 off her final bill, mum’s will also receive two complimentary gin and tonics.

Afternoon teas

The Ivy Asia is sure to delight with their Afternoon Tea with a twist, complete with Aromatic Duck Spring Rolls and flavoured Mochi for just £29.95 per person or £38.95 with a glass of fizz. A hop, skip and a jump away is Bluebird too, with their traditional afternoon tea offering and champagne should you wish, overlooking the buzz of the King’s Road. For when they can’t part with their four-legged friend, why not try Cream Tea at Love My Human where for just £9, you can catch up over scones and tea in their doggy haven. Of course, plenty of dog treats available. Or for that guaranteed magic touch, 11 Cadogan Gardens will spoil with Laurent Perrier Champagne, savouries including the quintessentially British egg mayonnaise and watercress finger sandwiches and homemade sweets, such as their unmissable banana and ginger cake. Plus, keep an eye out for Peggy Porschen and their seasonal afternoon tea sure to be announced soon which is a neighbourhood favourite.
