Just in time for Sunday-lunch season, The Chelsea Pig will reopen in mid-October. A Chelsea favourite since the late 1800s, it’s long been a go-to destination for in-the-know locals. Now, with an impeccably stylish revamp, an all-day dining menu of classic British favourites and a full bar, it’s set to reclaim its status as the place to go in Chelsea.
Redesigned in partnership with Chelsea stalwart and well-known designer Timothy Oulton (who is also the design brains behind the Gallery at Bluebird), the new-look pub promises an incredible interior and an equally compelling dining experience.
Renowned for his work in antiques, The Chelsea Pig marks Oulton’s first foray into the hospitality scene. But, as the brains behind a 40-strong network of lifestyle interiors stores across the world’s greatest cities, including New York and Moscow, the designer’s eye for luxury has served him well in creating a convivial, ambient energy in the pub.
The interiors are typical of Oulton’s signature style, interpreting classic design through a modern lens. Inviting hand-finished leather seating is juxtaposed with rich colour schemes and modern chandeliers in a mix of old luxury and transitional home comforts. And Oulton’s hallmark British design and craftsmanship are evident in the custom-designed accents throughout the refit. The handcrafted bar with glass baguettes in a brass frame, for example, or the impressive array of vintage furnishings, taken from his personal archives.
Provenance and quality ingredients were key in the menu’s curation, which will focus on a simple, authentic and imaginative food and drink offering. Think Beef Wellington and roast Halibut in a champagne sauce, sitting alongside comforting dishes such as the House Burger and Lobster Mac & Cheese. Roast fans will love the Sunday menu, where Hereford Rib of Beef for two will become a weekend highlight.
The Chelsea Pig will be open every day from midday. To stay up to date with the latest info on bookings and opening times, follow them on Instagram or visit the website here.
