A guide: dining alfresco

Pubs and restaurants will soon be allowed to offer alfresco dining under updated lockdown measures – the perfect way to soak up some spring sunshine after a long winter spent indoors. Here are the sunny spring terraces and roof gardens to head to on and near the King’s Road for brunch, lunch, cocktails or dinner from 12 April.

Stanleys

Craving an English country garden? Then get yourself a table at Stanley’s. This Sydney Street oasis is tucked away just off the King’s Road, offering stunning alfresco dining in its outdoor courtyard. Dining booths have been fitted with reclaimed timber screens to enable safe social distancing. Oh, and did we mention the extensive (and absolutely delicious) cocktails on offer? You definitely deserve several.

Vardo

We can’t wait to visit this stunning Duke of York Square restaurant again and tuck into some delicious small plates, or simply enjoy an open-air coffee we don’t have to take away! Vardo had barely been open a few months before the pandemic hit, so it’s top of our list to soak up some spring rays outside its gorgeous circular pavilion.
