We haven’t been able to dress up much this year – apart from the occasional Zoom drinks where we could sparkle from the waist up. So, we’re fully embracing the joy of getting properly dressed up, even if it’s just for cocktails at home. Whatever your festive season holds, we’ve picked our favourite partywear styles to be found on the King’s Road. For him, for her, for the little ones… and even for the dog!
For her
With its tiered midi silhouette and plus velvet fabric, this Anthropologie dress will look incredible with a pair of platform heels, like these from ba&sh (or slippers – if it’s for a Zoom party, who’s to know?!). Continuing the velvet theme, these Boden trousers will add plenty of opulence to your party season looks. And, we highly recommend making your outfit even more joyful with these sparkling slingback heels. Velvet not your thing? This dip-dye sequin dress from RIXO will make wafting around the house, cocktail in hand, feel impossibly glamourous. But be quick, it’s selling fast!
For him
When it comes to men’s formalwear, it really is tough to beat a velvet tux. But, since this year’s set to be a more relaxed affair, we think this nehru-collar velvet jacket from Sirplus is just the ticket. Wear over the Jay cotton-poplin shirt from French menswear brand Balibaris and spritz on some Penhaligon’s aftershave. Whether home or away, you can’t go wrong with these in your wardrobe. Why not top it off with some cufflinks too?
For little her
Perfect for an after-lunch walk, this scalloped red pure-wool coat from Trotters will keep her cosy. It’s a festive twist on one of their best sellers, and features a contrasting black-velvet collar and buttons, which feel fittingly regal at such a special time of year. Also fittingly-festive, this tartan dress from Mini Boden is perfect for mini-gatherings and present opening on Christmas morning.
For the really little her
For especially tiny tots, we love this long-sleeved blouse from Petit Bateau, which is ready to layer beneath these super snuggly velour dungarees. Ideal for roaming and exploring.
For little him
It wouldn’t be Christmas without a Christmas jumper. And, as always Boden have come up trumps with their collection: this reindeer one is a highlight. He’ll also being snuggled up in a new dressing gown to unwrap presents on Christmas Day. Why not treat him to this cosy style from Trotters and gift it as an early pressie on Christmas Eve?
For the really little him
You can’t go wrong with a selection of easy-on, easy-off cotton jersey tops in case of any mince pie spillages. This fun little screen-printed top from Petit Bateau is full of character.
For the dog
And last, but certainly not least, our furry friends really have been constant companions as we’ve navigated such a strange year. So we think this hand-knitted jumper from Pet Pavilion is a lovely gift for them to rip open. “Perfect for those colder nights and chilly walkies”.
