Looking for a scenic, sophisticated and achingly cool new Chelsea dining spot? Add Stanley’s straight to the top of your must-visit list. Located in the heart of Chelsea, at 151 Sydney Street, Stanley’s is London’s chicest new spot for courtyard alfresco dining. With a beautiful outdoor space, Instagrammable interiors and an amazing menu to boot, it’s no wonder Tatler Magazine has already name-checked it as SW3’s most popular spot this summer.
The large courtyard provides ample opportunity to soak up those late-summer rays. Tucked away just off the King’s Road, enter through its floral archway and soak up the ambience (it’s even better in the evening, thanks to its atmospheric overhead lighting). Flanked by olive trees, shrubs and fountains, this precious pocket away from the hustle and bustle feels like an English country-garden, nestled deep within the city.
But, of course, none of that matters if the food isn’t up to par. Rest assured on that front. Stanley’s is helmed by head chef Olivia Burt (Masterchef’s The Professionals Finalist 2019 and Claridge’s alumni), whose menu showcases the best of seasonal, British ingredients. Think delicious small plates like sourdough crumpets with crab, or locally sourced charcuterie.
Wine buffs will find plenty to raise a glass to as well. Put together in partnership with one of Chelsea’s oldest and favourite wine merchants, Lea & Sandeman, the wine list is a traditional offering of old-world classics, with authentic terroir wines available in each category. If you fancy a cocktail, order the house special: Stanley’s elderflower collins.
Open for lunch, dinner, late night drinks (until 11.30pm), Chelsea locals can also enjoy a Sunday brunch.
